What do you do you do to cope with menses?
sure Ive had it over the space of 10 years (yes CC is in her 20's) but I still havent found a good way for me to cope and the pain is driving me barmy - I can barely do anything without being topped up on 2x 500mg of Co-codamol for a week (which makes me motion sick - If I dont move my head slowly it hits me < thats how motion sick lol) and that includes sleeping.
I'm sorry I know I seem whiny but I'd really love to hear if you've had similar experience and feel like passing on the advice! Even note me!! or by my email: CruelCreeper@hotmail.co.uk - just make sure the subject header is something I wont automaticly bin! 'DA- journal reply' is good

But are you on some form of hormonal birth control, like the Pill? Those can help. And years ago, when I did have a problem, I'd keep a hot water bottle on my tummy. Seems old-fashioned, but it did help a lot.
I'm sorry! I can't imagine going through what you're going through, for an entire week every month.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?

I go the herbal way. Ive been taking Dong Quai for years and it helps. I take it before and not during. My sister wasnt able to take it. It is not for everyone, so ask your doctor.
I know Im being a bit general here, if you want me to be more specific I can.

That sounds like fun. I recently got a Bamboo Fun and have wanted to color something. Ive tried drawing on it, but I still havent gotten the hang of it.

If it isn't that, they hot, chamomile or ginger tea, some Tylenol, and a heating pad on the abdomen.

Just doing my part to add to the mystery.
Otherwise you can get a prescription for Mefenamic acid, which will cost you a fiver, and will last you for months. That's what I'm taking at the moment, plus one of those stick-on warming patches, which are a bit more convenient than a hot water bottle as you can go about your daily business with them.
Also you might want to consider the daily mini pill, which will stop you having periods altogether, and has the added bonus of contraception, and thus being free of charge. You have to take it at the same time every day. I was taking that when I was in dance college, it was great. Made me put on weight though.
Can you tell I've had trouble with my periods too? Can't believe it's been 15 years now...You never get used to it!
Oh yeah, that's just for the physical side of it. Do you get moody and cranky too?
im sorry that your in pain, darlin'. i do suggest to see the doctor if it's interfering with your daily life. You can never be too careful when it comes to your body.

Sev? SEVERUS?!?!!? Who said you could untie yourself from the bed?!?!?! BACK TO THE BED WITH YOU!!!!! . . .
Geez, that man just won't stay put! HEY, stop trying to hide the blindfold!! Grrrrr. . . he's lucky he's sexy as sin.
I had been but they were making me depressed and I couldnt focus on my work properly - I may try again with a different brand.(minus pointless chat with Doctor)
Yea, lol my little cat is actualy trying to help me by providing heat just now - she always seems to try to snuggle closer during these times.
I know that I've tried a hotwater bottle but I cant for the life of me remember why I stopped using it ...I'll have to try it again
I'm actually lucky in the fact that I dont get it every month - more like month skip a month, it's really random
Neproxen - you know it's wierd but me and my mum both found it to have little to no effect on us - It may have been the brand so I'll go out and try to find a different make - Thank you
Dont be sorry - I know that the majority of females get menses so I shouldnt really be complaining (except for liberaly cursing nature for it that is
Im going to make up a reading list just for these occasions now!
Ack, unfortunately for me and my mum) we both couldnt use Feminax Ultra - well not cant just that they dont work like we think they should, it only helps the pain a little for me or not at all.
mini pill - gosh i've got to try that - no period at all *sighs in wonder*
Isn't there an injection you can get that's similar to that?
Ah I know! you would think we'd have adapted after the first few times. If I have the energy to do anything I do become moody but the lack of energy just saps the strength of the emotions lol
The surgery for that, do you know if it's the navel they go through? (I just remember hearing about it somewhere)
Thank you
